How To Beat Solo Travel Blues

You are now equipped and ready for your next trip but wait, did you miss something? Oh yes, you have no travel companion! While this realization is one thing that would scare the hell out of many travelers, this will not faze and adventurous traveler. But no matter how adventurous you are, you will still experience some travel blues when you travel solo. Here are some way on how you can combat that:

·         Take comfort with the familiar.
When we become nostalgic, we become happy. There is something about reminiscing the good memories of the past that makes us feel better. One of the most common source of your solo travel blues is being homesick. If you are feeling this way, then find something that will conjure up the feelings of nostalgia.

·         Get out there.
When you are plagued by travel blues, all that you want to do is to stay inside your hotel room and sulk. Well, that aint going to help you. Fight the urge to stay in and opt to go out instead. When you force yourself to get out there, you will experience things that will remind you why you decided to travel in the first place.

·         Work out.
If you wish to release the happy hormones, then the best way to do that is to exercise. When you exercise, your body released endorphins and these are the hormones that make you feel happy. The best thing about exercising is that it is the most affordable way to feel good. You can just simply go brisk walking. You can also rent a bike, swim or just simply go for a hike. Find an activity that will get your blood pumping and your happy hormones will be released in no time.

·         Spoil and pamper yourself.
If you are feeling a bit lonely, then there is better (and faster) way to feel good than to pamper and spoil yourself! What is it that would make you feel better instantly? Do you love massages? If yes, then go out and have a massage! Do you love to eat? If yes, then spend a fortune on a full course meal in a sought after restaurant. If you love clothes, then buy yourself that dress or that bag that you have been pining since forever! If you are on a tight budget, you can find more affordable ways to splurge. You can buy a book or you can treat yourself to a class or many others.

Traveling solo indeed comes with plenty of benefits but it comes with lots of downsides too. One of the biggest downside to it would be the loneliness that you will feel along the way. The tips mentioned above will help you survive the challenges of a solo travel.
