Ultimate Packing Guide 2016

One of the struggles we are facing whenever we are travelling is fitting everything we need in a three days or so in one medium sized suitcase. It’s very difficult to decide if which is the most essential items to pack especially if you have more than 3 favorite sweater and scarf. Not to mention, you need to have matching shoes and bags to go along with your outfit. Thank God to airport’s baggage weight limits, you won’t be certainly bringing your entire closet in your vacation. The key is to pack lightly and wisely.

Don’t bring your entire beauty regimen. Your accommodation would most likely provide you with a decent soap and shampoo so there’s no need for you to bring your own. Makeup? Well since you can’t go out barefaced, sure bring some but not the entire 5kg kit. Just bring the basics like sunscreen lotion and your exotic moisturizer which you can’t find in just any Watson’s store.

Don’t pack clothes more than you’ll need. Schedule your outfits and try them on one by one before finalizing it to your suitcase. Bring a maximum of two shoes, a close shoes that can go from chic to formal, and an open sandals to let your feet breathe once in a while. Avoid bulky items such as leather jackets or high heeled boots, unless you’re going on a winter wonderland destination.

Don’t attempt to pack your authentic jewelries on your suitcase. In fact, don’t bring them to your trip at all. You cannot entrust your precious diamond necklace travelling by itself on the comforts of your suitcase. Remember that theft in the airport is very common. If you must bring them, then put them in a safe spot in your hand carry. This will keep your mind at piece that your expensive jewelry is at your side all the time.

Avoid bringing unnecessary gadgets which you think you may not use. A bulky SLR camera and a tripod will took up huge space in your suitcase. In case you want to take superb pictures, you can just rely on your smartphone or a slick compact camera. Invest yourself in one of those trendy portable WiFi so that you’ll stay connected no matter what part of the globe you are.

Last but not the least, don’t pack things which you can eventually buy there. Say for example, packing too much food items such as chips, energy bar, and bottled water. Yes, we get it. You don’t want to starve in the middle of your trip. But if you’re riding an airplane or a ferry, pretty sure they offer food services. Even busses who are strict with their schedule makes it a point to stop on diners to feed their hungry passengers. Guidebooks are also helpful when travelling to an unfamiliar place, but don’t you think it’s more interesting if you’ll let the locals guide you? In addition, you can download apps or google those questions you have in mind instead of bringing a bulky book.
