While
you’re in England, you definitely should not drop Bristol out of your list. With
a rich history and a major art industry, you’ll get to experience the different
wonderful sides of Bristol. What’s even more wonderful about Bristol is that it
lives up to its history. From then ‘til now, Bristol has remained as a major
shipping port area. So what are you waiting for? Make your sure you add Bristol
to your next set of destinations to visit.
Museum and Art Gallery
Having a
rich art culture, you must not miss out on the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.
With displays coming from various eras in history from different continents in
the world and even from ancient cities, something new and exciting can be found
along the hallways of this museum. Their displays go as far back to the
dinosaur era, can you imagine that! How often will you get to see such rare
fossils of extinct creatures. This is definitely an art
museum worth visiting. No wonder tourists wouldn’t leave Bristol without making
a trip to this museum.
Bristol Cathedral
If you
want to experience the old Bristol, go to the Bristol Cathedral. Although most
famous for its Gothic theme, the Bristol Cathedral already has a mixture of different
styles of architecture owing to its repairs from various time frames in
history. Not only can you get to experience the medieval architecture of this
structure but you get to experience public masses too so you can get a taste of
how local masses are.
Bristol Zoo Gardens
Going on
a trip with your family? Then you better take them to the Bristol Zoo Gardens.
Both a zoo and a garden, as the name obviously states, this is no ordinary zoo
and garden. Plants and animals that can hardly be found anywhere else in the
world can be found here. You’re definitely in for a Jurassic treat once you see
the plants and fossils that came from that time period. Various food chains and
souvenir shops can be found at the area for convenience. In addition to that,
by visiting the zoo, you become an automatic charity worker since a percentage
of the entrance fee goes to global projects aimed at conserving nature.
Balloon Fiesta
An
exciting experience would be going on a hot air balloon flight. Every year,
Bristol holds its Balloon Fiesta where spectators can enjoy watching hundreds
of hot air balloons take flight. What makes this experience even
more amazing is when you wait ‘til after sunset. The balloons would again take
flight with their flames lighting up the night sky, kind of like Chinese paper
lanterns but even better.
How can
your trip be complete without bringing a little hint of Bristol back to your
home? Cabot Circus is a great place to spend for all those of you shopaholics
out there. With tons of shops and restaurants, you’ll never run out of places
to go to. But since is a huge shopping complex, expect lots of people and long
lines so make sure you get in early.
