Coachella,
Electric Forest, Lollapalooza and other numerous festivals offering a sweaty
and muddy
long weekend boasting with outdoor shows at several locations in the
US. Thousands of music lovers from all corners squeeze in under the sun as they
anticipate their favorite bands to perform. Indeed, summer festivals are a
great event to get exposed to new music and contemporary artists. But before
you indulge in the vibrant activity, make sure safety is your main priority.
Don’t
underestimate the power of sunscreen. Majority of music festivals are held on
open ground leaving the guests exposed to the sun. Always bring a pocket
sized-sunblock lotion or spray. For ladies, replace your foundation with a quality
BB cream. It works as a sunscreen for your face and keeps you looking fresh the
entire day.
Get to know the
line-up of artists that will perform in order to schedule your time wisely.
Don’t expect famous artists like Ellie Goulding or Imagine Dragons to perform
the entire day in any music festival. Frequently, new comers and fresh artists
are the front act performances. Stay in your air-conditioned room for the
meantime and save
your energy for David Guetta at the later part of the event.
Keep rehydrating
yourself. Instead of caffeinated and carbonated beverages, replenish your cells
by drinking plenty of water or orange juice. The warm atmosphere, congested
environment, and extreme partying can cause sweating and exhaustion.
Dehydration can lead to fainting or worse heat stroke. Remember you are here to
enjoy and you don’t want to end your music festival celebration in the
hospital.
Don’t forget to
bring the right type of toiletries. Music
festivals are the most excited yet not the place to
be glamorous. The comfort rooms are not plenty enough to accommodate thousands
of guests, therefore, expect it to be dirty and lacking of tissues. Your wet
wipes and hand sanitizers will keep you feeling fresh and clean. Therefore,
always bring plenty of these items. Powders are not only for babies, it can
remove that sticky feeling from heat and sweat.
Sleep when you
can. Most people have the attitude of partying hard like there’s no tomorrow
which is not really healthy. Sleep is essential in human’s existence.
Continuous lack of sleep can cause your body organs to deteriorate. The last
thing you want is to collapse in the middle of the crowd. A power nap can make
you feel rejuvenated ready for an evening’s event.
Be vigilant with
your electronics. This is not a safe place to bring expensive phones or
cameras. But you wouldn’t certainly let that event pass by without taking
Instagram worthy pictures. But always be cautious about your belongings. Events
like these are also a desirable place for pick-pockets. Or, your precious
Iphone can also end up broken.
Arrive early to
get a parking space. Finding a spot to park your car in your office is
challenging enough, how much more in an enormous festival where there are
thousands of spectators. Sometimes, leaving your car at home and taking a cab
is an advisable move.
